Doordat het toestel is voorzien van een gefocuste laserstraal is het mogelijk door zeer dunne insteekbuisjes te meten (&lt;10 mm diameter). Hierdoor is er bij de SP Compact, voor toepassingen waarbij spoeling van de lens ter voorkoming van stofafzetting noodzakelijk is, slechts een zeer beperkt spoeldebiet vereist.<br \/>\nMet de optionele interne deshydratiemiddelen kunnen deze toestellen ook worden geoptimaliseerd voor in-situ meting van sporen niveaus van bv O2 en H2O.
